LEGO® Serious Play

The perfect method for gaining new perspectives within the team

LEGO® Serious Play looks like a toy—but it’s full of depth. As a certified facilitator, I use this method specifically when teams are stuck, need new ideas, or need to find a common language. And yes, laughter is allowed.

I love LSP because it gets people thinking, feeling, and telling stories—all at the same time. And because it reveals what often remains unsaid. This ensures genuine participation, surprising insights, and tangible results.

1. Warm-up with construction tasks

2. Individual models for a specific question

3. Sharing & reflecting as a team

4. Developing a common understanding & next steps

What exactly is it about?

LEGO® Serious Play is a moderated process: everyone builds a model related to the question at hand, explains their perspective, listens to other points of view and suddenly the solution is on the table. Literally.

LSP is never an end in itself. I always use it as a tailor-made component in a larger workshop – embedded in a structured process with clear goals.

For anyone who thinks, “Playing at work? Seriously?”

Absolutely. Precisely because work is often too serious, it sometimes helps to think with your hands. The results speak for themselves and stick in your mind.
